The Foner Solar Flat Roof Solar Mounting System is designed for photovoltaic installations on commercial and industrial flat roofs. Using a ballast-based mounting structure with HDPE counterweight cavities, the system allows solar panels to be installed without penetrating the roof surface.
This non-penetrating installation method protects the roof waterproof layer while ensuring reliable structural stability. With modular design, corrosion-resistant materials, and flexible system layout, the mounting system provides an efficient solution for rooftop solar power generation.
Flat roofs offer excellent opportunities for photovoltaic installations, particularly for industrial buildings, warehouses, and commercial facilities.
The Foner Solar flat roof mounting system uses HDPE ballast cavities filled with water as counterweight, replacing traditional concrete foundations. This innovative design provides several advantages:
· Protects the roof waterproof layer
· Reduces structural load concentration
· Enables fast installation
· Allows easy relocation and reuse
Compared with conventional concrete counterweight systems, the HDPE ballast solution is lighter, more flexible, and easier to transport and install.
A complete rooftop solar mounting system includes several structural components that ensure safe and stable system operation.
The counterweight structure is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). These cavities are filled with water during installation to create the required ballast weight.
HDPE materials offer excellent resistance to UV radiation, corrosion, and environmental aging.
The front and rear supports that hold the photovoltaic modules are also made of HDPE structural materials, ensuring strong corrosion resistance and long-term durability.
All bolts, nuts, and washers are manufactured from 304 stainless steel, providing high reliability and corrosion resistance in outdoor environments.
The structural components use a modular plug-in connection design, enabling quick assembly and reducing installation time.
Front and rear clamps securely fix photovoltaic modules in place while allowing flexibility for different module sizes.
The ballast mounting design eliminates the need to drill into the roof structure. This protects the roof waterproof membrane and prevents potential leakage risks.
The HDPE ballast structure can withstand wind speeds up to 50 m/s and snow loads up to 1.5 kN/m², ensuring safe operation even in harsh environmental conditions.
The modular design allows the system to be installed quickly without heavy construction equipment.
Typically, a team of approximately 15 workers can install around 250 kW of rooftop solar capacity per day under normal conditions.
The mounting system supports multiple panel arrangements and can be adapted to different rooftop shapes and sizes, maximizing the available installation area.
The compact modular structure allows more units to be loaded per container, significantly reducing logistics costs for international projects.
The flat roof solar mounting system is designed to simplify project deployment and reduce construction complexity.
Installation only requires assembling the structural components and filling the HDPE cavities with water to create ballast.
This process is significantly faster than traditional concrete ballast systems.
If the solar project needs to be relocated or expanded, the system can be disassembled and the ballast water drained, allowing easy transportation and reinstallation.
The modular layout allows maintenance personnel to easily access solar modules for inspection, cleaning, or repair.
